Where a render goes next

One 3D file feeds more than one format. Add 360° jewellery rotation videos so a buyer can turn the piece over on a product page, commission lifestyle and on-body renders for campaign and editorial use, or order on-body renders for e-commerce alongside the catalogue angles.

Stone-heavy work has its own demands. We cover prong, pavé and halo detail for stone-forward diamond designs separately.

Photorealistic 3D render of a cushion-cut solitaire ring in yellow gold, three-quarter view

One CAD file, every metal colour

Switch the metal on this solitaire render. Yellow, rose and white gold all come from the same 3D file — each colour is a material change on the model, not a new photo shoot.

Same design, same camera and lighting — only the metal changes.

Jewellery Rendering & 3D Visualisation

Two words that get used interchangeably, and they rarely mean the same thing to the buyer and to the studio. Here is how we scope each one.

What rendering covers

A render is a finished image of one piece. You supply the CAD file or a reference, we apply the metal and stone specification, then light and shoot it virtually. The output is a set of photorealistic stills at the angles you ask for.

What visualisation covers

Visualisation is scoped by outcome rather than by image count: the styling, the backgrounds, the angles and the mix of formats a collection needs to look consistent wherever it appears. It is the word most buyers use when they search for jewelry visualization services — product visualization for a store or catalogue rather than one image.

How to brief each

For rendering, the useful brief is technical: the file, the metal, the stone details and the angles you need. For visualisation, tell us where the visuals will be used and what they sit next to. That decides the styling and the format mix before any rendering starts.

Beyond still images

Because the work starts from a 3D model rather than a photograph, the same jewellery CAD file can also produce 360 degree spins and on-body or lifestyle visuals without re-shooting anything. That reuse is usually the practical reason brands move from photography to jewellery rendering.

Brands weighing a render programme against a traditional shoot usually want the trade-offs side by side — we set them out in 3D rendering compared with traditional jewellery photography, including the cases where photography is still the better answer.
